FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear confirmed a 20th death on Thursday related to the May 16-17 severe storms that struck Kentucky.

According to Beshear, a McCracken County man was the 20th weather-related death.

“Please join Britainy and me in praying for his family and all those affected,” Beshear stated on Facebook.

Last month, severe weather impacted multiple areas of the Commonwealth, with the majority of the deaths being reported in Laurel and Pulaski counties. This followed a tornado touching down in Laurel County.

Disaster response efforts are still ongoing in some areas, including for victims of the April floods.
