SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Lucas Hamilton runs for a myriad of reasons.
"I try to stay active with two kids. I think I need to stay active," runner Lucas J. Hamilton said.
But tonight he is running for a cause that is close to his heart.
"About ten years ago, my grandmother passed away from Alzheimer's disease. And this was when I was in graduate school studying aging and dementia. So that's how I got connected to it initially. And then, I learned shortly thereafter that my wife's grandfather also passed away from dementia of a different kind. So it's just been consistently in our lives," Hamilton said.
It's part of the 605 Day 5k that benefits the Alzheimer's Association.
