June 5 Update:
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) released new details about the investigation into a deadly shooting involving deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting happened on Thursday, May 29, near Greer.
According to SLED, The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office requested help from Greenville County to serve warrants on Johnny Collins, 51.
Those warrants were for charges of attempted murder and kidnapping, SLED said.
Investigators said Greenville County deputies first located Collins near Highway 14 and West Gap Creek Road, but he ran into a wooded area on Cannon Road.
SLED said Collins was armed with a hatchet, and he was shot after moving toward deputies and raising the hatchet.
