Todd Evans died in tragedy, but his life cannot be defined by the moment May 9 when the excavator he was operating tipped into the Provo River, his longtime partner, Shoree Boyd, declared.

Boyd said Evans, 60, was not just the type of person who would be a loyal friend, but also someone who remembered the small things.
“The biggest thing that people say about him is that he was the first one to call them on their birthdays or text them,” Boyd said, adding that he loved being there for his community more than anything. “When he was speaking to somebody, it felt like you’re the only person in the world. He remembered details. He really listens.”
