CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The 22News Storm Team has declared a Weather Alert for strong to severe thunderstorms on Friday afternoon.

Thursday night, expect scattered clouds to continue with the chance for a passing shower. There is a low chance of a thunderstorm this evening and overnight. Low temperatures bottom out in the 60s.

Scattered showers & thunderstorms are possible Friday morning. Showers and thunderstorms are likely Friday afternoon and evening. Some of these storms may be strong to severe. Be ready for heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds Friday afternoon and evening. High temperatures will be in the low to mid-80s.

Showers continue for at least a portion of the day on Saturday.
