SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - As the weather gets warmer, more and more ants are searching for food.

A Springfield pest control company says this is the time of year when they receive the most calls. The record-breaking rain washed ants out of their normal hiding spots and into our homes.

Keep them away by ensuring there aren’t any cracks or holes on the outside of your home. And if you see just one ant, don’t ignore it.

“One of the number one things people can do is exclude ants in general. Ants follow a pheromone trail,” said Jordan Hicks of Bug Zero. “A lot of times, what you’ll see is one coming through the kitchen, something like that.
