RUSK COUNTY, Texas — A date has been set for a potential jury trial in federal lawsuit over a 2022 deadly East Texas officer-involved shooting.

The lawsuit stems from the shooting that killed Timothy Randall, 29, on Sept. 14, 2022, in Turnertown during a traffic stop. Rusk County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Shane Iverson fatally shot Randall during the stop that centered around Randall allegedly running a stop sign.

Iverson was later no-billed by a grand jury in Rusk County, meaning he was not charged criminally in connection with the shooting.

In October 2023, Randall's mother Wendy Tippitt filed a federal lawsuit alleging that Iverson violated her son's constitutional rights.
