GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you were out and about in West Michigan on Thursday, you probably noticed that the skies weren’t as clear as they usually are.
"We noticed the haze outside, and it smelled a little bit funny," said Bryan Hall, who spent the day fishing with his family at Millennium Park in Walker.
For the past week, smoke from the Canadian wildfires has made its way across the region. It has lowered the air quality to unhealthy, meaning some members of the general public may experience health effects and members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.
"Over time, these types of factors can have a cumulative impact on your heart and lungs, and so we want to really make sure that people are aware of the conditions right now, that they're taking those precau
