Voluntary boil advisory issued for portions of East Flournoy Lucas Road

SHREVEPORT, La. -- The City of Shreveport’s Department of Water and Sewerage has issued a voluntary boil advisory for customers in the following area:

• East Flournoy Lucas Road from Wallace Lake Road to the Twelve Oaks Subdivision including Lucien Field Estates, Acadiana Place and Ellerbe Estates.

The advisory is in place because of a loss of water pressure when a driver hit a backflow preventer in the area.

When pressure drops, there is an increased risk that contaminants could enter the water system. As a precaution, the water in this area may be of questionable microbiological quality until testing can confirm its safety, city officials said in a news release.

Once cleared, the Department of Water and Sewerage will issue a follow-up notice lifting the advisory, with the approval of
