LOGAN — A 47-year-old Logan man previously charged with sexual battery and public urination has been found incompetent to stand trial. Eyasu Birhane Dirar has been in the Cache County Jail for the past 11 months.

According to court records, Dirar appeared June 2 in Logan’s 1st District Court. He was previously charged with with three counts of lewdness involving a child, two counts of sexual battery and two counts of criminal trespass, all class A misdemeanors; interference with an arresting officer, a class B misdemeanor; intoxication and consuming liquor in a public place, both class C misdemeanors; along with infractions for public urination and disorderly conduct. The charges stemmed from three separate incidents in August 2023, May and July 2024.
