RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - There is video of a sideshow in downtown Reno.

Taken back in 2022 residents of Reno quickly understood how dangerous this illegal activity was--putting driver and spectators at risk---the location was particularly brazen.

“What we found the community was very disturbed by the sideshows,” says Kathryn Nance, Reno Police Chief. “They did not want to see that here. And it was a large talking point for a lot of people I talked to.”

Which meant stepped up efforts to stop sideshows in the Truckee Meadows were applauded by the community.

That included arrests and impounding vehicles. As well as clarifying a city ordinance where onlookers at these sideshows could be arrested as well.
