LONGVIEW, Texas — Kids hoping to find a career in law enforcement are getting some hands-on experience this week.
The Longview Junior Police Academy is running through drills this week at the Spring Hill High School campus. The future cadets age 14 through 19 are learning the ins and out of law enforcement through classroom and hands-on experiences.
"You have kids that are interested in law-enforcement, but don't really know what it consist of and this is an opportunity for them to see what we do," Longview Police Department spokesperson LaDarian Brown said. "Learn a little bit more about what we do and kind of feed that desire and curiosity to work for the Longview police department."
