Washington scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in the state quarterfinal against Rapid City Stevens to secure a 5-2 win and advance to the semifinals.

All three sixth inning runs came with two outs. An RBI single from Rylynn Routh with the bases loaded gave the Warriors a 3-2 lead and then two more runs crossed home plate on the following at-bat due to an error.

Rapid City Stevens took an early lead in the top of the third inning off a solo home run by Lainey Van Zee. Routh hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fifth to give Washington their first lead of the game.

Routh led the Warriors with a team-high three RBI and two hits. Kjerstin Kyte, Tierney Schramm, and Kate Childress also recorded hits. Madelyn Mescher pitched 5.1 innings and struck out nine.
