SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Getting around town or even on the open road can be more of a hassle this time of the year due to the many construction projects.

In the fall of 2026, the intersection near Lincoln High School will look a lot different.

“Rebuilding the Cliff Ave interchange at I-229 right now and now over the summer. Right now we’ve completely closed Cliff Avenue,” said Sioux Falls Traffic Operations Engineer Heath Hoftiezer.

The detour is Minnesota Ave, with over 10,000 additional vehicles taking this route daily. The city is making adjustments to help with traffic flow.
