HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rescue crews are searching for a young woman who was last seen at Honolulu’s airport.

The search has expanded after a discovery along an East Oahu coastline.

Khilye Hamadani, 21, was last seen Monday afternoon at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

The search turned up a pair of platform sneakers that were found drifting in the waters, just under two miles from Waialae Beach Park.

The sneakers found offshore matched the description of the shoes Hamadani was wearing at the airport.

According to Honolulu police, she was headed toward the Portlock area. Her cell phone was traced to Spitting Cave, and her bag was found at China Walls.

The Coast Guard said its teams have searched for 40 hours and have covered 660 square miles so far.
