NEW YORK — For the eighth time in the history of Kentucky Women's Basketball, a Wildcat heard her name called in the WNBA Draft. The Washington Mystics selected All-American point guard Georgia Amoore sixth overall Monday night in New York City.

The Ballarat, Victoria, Australia native is the first Wildcat to be selected in the WNBA Draft since Rhyne Howard in 2022 and joins four other Wildcats who were first-round selections, including Howard, Evelyn Akhator, A'dia Mathies and Victoria Dunlap. She is head coach Kenny Brooks' ninth draft selection.

Amoore spent the 2024-25 season at Kentucky after four seasons at Virginia Tech (2020-24). She ends her college career with 2,460 points and 869 assists and is the only college player — men or women — to have at least 2,000 career points (2,46
