COLUMBIA — Just south of the Gateway Plaza in Columbia, a plot of land blocked off by chain-linked fencing that has sat untouched for years is about to begin development.

“It’s finally coming together in terms of a project," Columbia Parks and Recreation Director Gabe Huffington said. " Emery Sapp & Sons plans to start down at the site in June to start constructing the end walls for the bridge, and then we are anticipating the bridge will arrive in August."

The end walls are the first step in the construction process. They are the concrete bases where the new 65-foot bridge will sit. Download PDF
