Across the United States, libraries are cutting back on programs and services after the Trump administration suspended millions of dollars in federal grants.

Since taking office, President Trump has shuttered or drastically pared down dozens of federal agencies. In March, the president issued an executive order that would dismantle the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), along with six other agencies, calling for their dismantling “to the maximum extent of the law,” as reported by the Associated Press .
