WACO, Texas — Emergency sirens wailed and tactical teams moved through the halls of Bishop Louis Reicher Schools on Thursday as dozens of first responders from across McLennan County participated in a comprehensive active threat training exercise designed to prepare for worst-case scenarios.

The Waco Police Department, in collaboration with multiple McLennan County agencies, conducted the 15-hour simulation at St. Louis Catholic Church and Bishop Louis Reicher Schools on North 25th Street.

Waco Police Department Commander Chet Long emphasized the critical importance of inter-agency cooperation during high-stress situations.
