IDAHO FALLS — Gov. Brad Little announced in a news release Tuesday afternoon that Bonneville County Magistrate Judge Brendon Taylor has been appointed to become a district judge for Bonneville County.

This new appointment fills the vacancy left by former District Judge Bruce Pickett’s announcement of his retirement from the bench in January.

Taylor was one of three names submitted by the Idaho Judicial Council in February to be Pickett’s successor.

According to the release, Taylor has been serving in Bonneville County since 2022, when he was appointed as a magistrate judge. He has also served as the presiding judge over the Domestic Violence Treatment Court program.
