At least for now, a federal court order has blocked the closure of three Oklahoma Job Corps sites.

A federal judge in New York issued a temporary restraining order Wednesday, prohibiting the Trump administration from terminating Job Corps contracts or stopping work at 99 contractor-operated Job Corps sites around the country, including ones in Tulsa, Tahlequah and Guthrie.

The U.S. Department of Labor had announced last week that it was pausing the 61-year-old program, which offers residential education and career training opportunities for young adults ages 16-24.
