WINNSBORO, Texas — A former East Texas employee was arrested and is charged with having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Winnsboro ISD said Thursday they were notified a former employee with the district was arrested in another county. The individual resigned from WISD prior to the accusations coming to light and is no longer affiliated with the district in any capacity, a spokesperson from WISD said.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office identified the man as Nicholas Gabriele, who previously served as an assistant football coach and taught economics. In his year teaching, Gabriele allegedly began a sexual relationship with a high school student.
