DRAPER, Utah (KUTV) — The Utah Division of Drinking Water issued a boil order to nearly 1,300 customers in Draper.

WaterPro, Draper's source for pressurized irrigation and drinking water , said the contamination came from a cross-connection between the secondary and culinary water systems, allowing untreated water to enter drinking water systems.

Residents in Draper's water service area are not affected.

Secondary water is not treated for human consumption and may contain:

Bacteria like E. coli or Salmonella

Viruses like Norovirus and Hepatitis A

Parasites like Cryptosporidium

Chemical contaminants like fertilizers or pesticides
