BRIMSON, Minn. (Northern News Now) - With wildfire evacuation orders lifted, St. Louis County officials are advising affected home and cabin owners to wait a little longer to clean up.

St. Louis County officials want folks to wait before hauling any fire-damaged debris as they create a permitting process with the MPCA.

The goal is to allow for a temporary disposal site in Brimson.

Details will be finalized within two weeks. Delaying disposal is also recommended to allow time for any smoldering embers to burn out.

As safety precautions, officials advise wearing rubber gloves and washing your hands.

Also keep any receipts to possibly submit to insurance.
