Former mayor talks Buc-ee’s, death threats, and leaked text messages after resignation

PALMER LAKE, Colo. (KRDO) -- KRDO13 Investigates was the first to report that the now-former mayor of Palmer Lake has resigned amid the ongoing Buc-ee's controversy, and the release of private text messages.

She says she's suffered months of harassment and threats because of the proposed annexation for the Buc-ee's, which led to her resignation. But her announcement comes just days after those text messages were leaked to the public.

In the texts, Glant Havenar allegedly insulted constituents who challenged her, made disparaging comments about trans people, and admitted to creating fake online profiles.
