PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It appears the trial for the suspects in the murder of Preston Lord may not start as scheduled.
Attorneys for Treston Billey, Talan Renner, Taylor Sherman, Dominic Turner and Talyn Vigil argued on Thursday that the tentative start day of July 21, 2025, was unrealistic. Each defendant has a different lawyer and many of them told the judge they need more time to review all the evidence in the case.
The sixth suspect in the case, Jacob Meisner, was not in court. He was offered a plea last week but declined, claiming that he was not responsible for Lord’s death . Meisner is set to be in court on June 20.
The seventh suspect, William Hines, was sentenced last month to 12 years in prison for Lord’s death after pleading guilty to manslaughter, plus another five years
