LAFAYETTE, La (KLFY)-- Today was the last day for Faith House's first session of their summer program called "Love Is." Aimed at empowering girls between the ages of 11 and 17, Faith House is teaching teens how to spot dating violence.

When it comes to dating violence, the CDC indicates one in three people experience some form of physical, verbal nor emotional abuse. This is why Faith House is educating young girls on how to spot the signs of dating violence.

Ceyera Byrd with Faith House says it's a way to teach young girls about healthy relationships and empower them through education with hands-on activities. She says it also promotes awareness about domestic violence, teen dating violence, healthy friendships, and healthy relationships.
