Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s call for Gov. Stitt to remove all Afghan refugees who entered the state through a Biden administration humanitarian resettlement program was met in Tulsa with disbelief, confusion and a few choice words not fit for print.
“Clearly the statement was made for political purposes, and it was not made for any legitimate ask for the governor to do anything about removing Afghans from Oklahoma, because legally, he doesn’t have the authority to do that,” said Robin Sherman, director of legal services for YWCA Tulsa.
