The Jefferson City School District saw improvement in this year's Missouri State Highway Patrol bus inspection report.
According to the report , released Thursday, 62 district buses were inspected with 85.5% passing, and 14.5% were rated defective. No buses were deemed out of service.
Inspections must be done by a licensed mechanic or inspector from the Driver and Vehicle Safety Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, according to the school bus regulations manual .
Jefferson City Schools Chief of Staff Ryan Burns said this improvement is from the district's new partnership with Student Transportation of America .
The 2024 report shows 69.1% of buses were approved, 21.8% were defective and 9.1% were out of service.
