TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Farhad Moghimi is out as the executive director ot the Pima Association of Governments and Regional Transportation Authority.
The boards of both groups voted 5-4 on Thursday to terminate Moghimi’s contract.
Both PAG and RTA are focused on transportation development in southern Arizona, but the RTA is managed by PAG.
The RTA was formed after voters approved a 1/2-cent sales tax increase in 2006 to fund transportation projects across the area.
Moghimi and the RTA have been under fire for years, with several planned projects not getting done and larger cities complaining that they were putting more into the group than they were getting out of it.
