Two people injured in a Syracuse fire

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Two people were injured after a kitchen fire broke out on Syracuse's westside on Thursday.

At 5:15 p.m., on June 5, Syracuse Firefighters were called to a reported fire on the 300 block of Otisco Street. Crews arriving at the home reported smoke coming from the front of the house.

According to the Syracuse Fire Department, everyone made it out of the house, but two people were injured by the fire. The two were taken to the hospital, where their conditions are unknown. • (Syracuse Fire Department) • (Syracuse Fire Department)

Syracuse firefighters' investigation found that the fire started on the first floor in the kitchen and was caused by unattended cooking that began on the stove of the first-floor apartment’s kitchen.
