ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - An issue left behind from Wednesday’s round of storms is flooding.

There is more rain in the forecast, and with that, are new concerns from St. Charles County residents that things will only get worse.

St. Charles County officials told First Alert 4 that highway crews were out checking sewer grates on Thursday.

James Harris lives on St. Peters Howell Road and is dealing with about four feet of water in his basement.

“We have a swimming pool in our basement,” Harris said.

Harris said water destroyed family heirlooms, a washer and dryer, music equipment and other belongings.

“Our whole life is underwater,” Harris said.

Nearly a year ago, Harris said his home flooded, and he is still fighting with insurance to get the damage covered.
