SPOKANE, Wash. — Washington senators held a press conference on Thursday, warning that the cuts to Medicaid proposed in President Trump's "big beautiful bill" will negatively impact Washingtonians , whether they are Medicaid recipients or not.
"Many of them can barely scrape enough money together for their appointments," said U.S. Senator Patty Murray.
Healthcare providers from Yakima to Spokane joined the press conference and claimed that the loss of Medicaid will impact every person in the state.
"Patients may even ration food or skip medication altogether. All this adds up to patients who, when they do seek care, will require higher-level care, which is also more expensive," said Alex Jackson, the chief executive of Multicare Inland Northwest.
