As the Trump administration ramps up U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations, a southern Indiana group is speaking up for immigrants who are being detained.
The honks and signs in downtown Jeffersonville on Thursday were from the group “Do Something Southern Indiana," showing support for those housed in the Clark County jail.
“People are being picked up when they're actually doing the right thing by going to the immigration offices, signing in and doing their regular check-ins,” said Kathy Collins, an organizer with Do Something Southern Indiana. “These aren’t people who are out here selling meth, these are people who want to have a pathway here.
