HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- An 11-year-old boy was playing basketball with his 13-year-old brother when he was injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday night in northeast Houston, police said.

Just before 7 p.m., the Houston Police Department said officers received a call about a shooting in the 8600 block of Lomax Street. When officers arrived, they found the 11-year-old had been shot in the torso.

Police learned the brothers were playing in front of the house when a light blue, four-door sedan with a Hispanic man pulled up. According to Lt. Larry Crowson, the vehicle had driven by two or three times before stopping and firing at least two gunshots, one of which hit the 11-year-old.
