Following a WNBA championship win in 2024, Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty have started the 2025 season with a perfect 7-0 record.

On Thursday, the Liberty looked for their eighth win to start the year, facing Brittney Sykes and the Washington Mystics in the nation's capital.

Going into the game, Ionescu had recorded 399 made 3-pointers during her six-year career with the Liberty. She trailed only Crystal Robinson (400) for the most made shots from long distance.

With 3:50 remaining in the first quarter, Ionescu received a pass from Natasha Cloud before hitting a 23-foot corner 3-point shot, her second of the game.

In doing so, Ionescu reached 401 career 3-pointers, breaking Robinson's record for the most in Liberty history.
