PEORIA, Ariz. — Two children were seriously injured and sent to the hospital, with one of them in critical condition, at Desert Tortoise Campground at Lake Pleasant on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the children reportedly fell out of a moving pickup truck on Thursday.
The children were riding in the back of the pickup truck on an inflatable raft when they were thrown out while it was moving, according to the sheriff's office.
It happened at South Park and Desert Tortoise roads at Lake Pleasant, the sheriff's office said.
Sky12 showed at least two people being airlifted from the scene by helicopter.
MCSO said the children appear to be ages 8 and 9. One of the kids is still in critical condition, the sheriff's office confirmed Fr
