SEYMOUR, Conn. (WTNH) — Serious injuries have been reported and Route 8 North is currently closed following a one-vehicle crash in the vicinity of exit 18 in Seymour on Thursday evening.

State Police said the crash occurred at approximately 6:56 p.m. Route 8 is closed between exits 18 and 21. CARS has been dispatched to the scene. Police did not comment on how many people were involved in the crash.

State Police are asking travelers to seek an alternate route.
