MALTA — Ellen Fuda had mixed feelings about a certain email she received last Friday.

Fuda, who earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood and elementary education this past December from The State University of New York (SUNY), is currently a substitute teacher at Veeder Elementary in the South Colonie Central School District. She’s splitting her time with her alma mater, as Fuda is also in her first season serving as an assistant coach with Shenendehowa’s varsity and junior varsity softball teams.
