HINTON, WV (WVNS) -- City of Hinton officials are making the final preparations needed to welcome tourists from across the country this summer.

With their National Park designation and several state parks in the area, Hinton is inundated with tourists every summer.

Cris Meadows, the City Manager, said that in addition to having Wild Water Express open and ready for business, they have been making improvements all over the area.

"We've done a little sprucing up here and there. We're trying to get our new park open sometime, early summer, so we'll see how that goes. Everything's moving along on that project and all of our river accesses will be cleaned off and ready for tourists to bring in their kayaks and everybody to come on down here and just enjoy the water," said Meadows.
