KETTERING, Ohio (WKRC) - The hacker group allegedly responsible for a data breach that disrupted Kettering Health last month is making bold claims about the extent of their theft.
The "Interlock Ransomware Group" has posted that their actions compromised more than 730,000 patient files, according to a research company specializing in cybersecurity breaches.
Interlock is a relatively new group, having formed in October 2024. Despite their recent inception, the group already has 26 confirmed attacks on American healthcare companies.
