ORWELL, Vt. (WCAX) - Students in Orwell are getting their hands on history.
Four fifth graders and two fourth graders make up the history club, and they’re putting up an exhibition in Orwell.
Students picked items donated to the Orwell history archive and researched the stories behind them.
“Working with children is simply finding a way to make the interest relevant to them, and that’s true for any researcher. That’s partly why I love primary resources so much. It’s that regardless of age, depending on how it’s introduced to you, it can be of interest to you for where you are at that moment,” said Danielle Rougeau, President of the Orwell Historical Society.
The exhibition is ongoing. To get there, take the stairs at the back of the Orwell Library to reach the museum.
