Child hit by vehicle in Mount Horeb, taken to the hospital

MOUNT HOREB, Wis. (WKOW) -- A child who was hit by a vehicle in Mount Horeb Thursday evening was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The Mount Horeb Police Department says officers were called to the 300 block of East Main Street around 4:45 p.m. Thursday.

Police say preliminary information indicates the child tried to cross the street outside of the designated crosswalk and was hit by the vehicle.

They say the child's injuries were not life threatening.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

No citations were issued.
