ENGLEWOOD — D.J. Jones sent a cryptic message on social media on the eve of signing a Denver Broncos contract extension.
Jones posted March 9 on X: “If you don't know your own value, somebody will tell you your value, and it'll be less than you're worth.”
The veteran defensive lineman agreed to a three-year extension valued at $39 million the following day. Jones discussed why he re-signed in Denver on Thursday after organized team activities at Broncos Park.
“It was everything,” Jones said. “I wanted to be back here, and so we made it happen quick.”
Jones, 30, is a key piece of Denver’s interior run defense alongside Malcolm Roach. Jones finished second in the NFL in “run stop win rate” among defensive tackles last season, according to ESPN. Jones also recorded four quarterback hur
