HARTFORD, Conn. — Workers in Connecticut who are suffering from significant cases of autoimmune disease are eligible from paid time off from their jobs.
The Connecticut Paid Leave Authority issued a release on Thursday reminding workers, families and caregivers that paid leave can benefit those who live with an autoimmune disease.
An autoimmune disease results from an abnormal response to the adaptive immune system, as healthy and functioning parts of the body are mistakenly targeted as if they were foreign organisms.
