The Rubinoos, the Berkley, Calif.-based power-pop band that had a few hits in the 1970s but continues to have a cult following, has been forced to cancel some of their tour dates due to an unspecified illness.

The band took to their official Instagram account on June 4 to announce the news.

“We’re very sorry to announce that we are canceling our performance tonight at The Chapel in S.F. due to illness. We are also canceling our shows in Portland and Seattle later this week. We are so bummed!” the post reads.

The band was set to open for the all-star indie rock combo the Minus 5, led by former R.E.M. sideman Scott McCaughey and featuring former R.
