TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The twin sister of former Duncanville High School quarterback Keelon Russell, Kierston Russell, died Wednesday, according to a report from ESPN’s Chris Low.

Tuscaloosa police, in a statement obtained by ESPN, said her death appeared to be “non-criminal in nature.” No further details were released.

Keelon Russell has shared several condolences on his Instagram story from friends and family mourning the loss.

According to ESPN, Kierston and Keelon celebrated their graduations from Duncanville High School together in May. Kierston was scheduled to join Keelon at the University of Alabama in August, where he enrolled early to participate in spring practice.

Keelon was a five-star recruit and the 2024 Gatorade National Player of the Year. He also helped lead Duncanville
