PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Bridges wiped out by flooding months ago are still causing problems for people in Pike County.

Mandy Stiltner has lived in the Stopover area for years.

“About a week ago, it was a big rock in the middle I don’t know from where it was scrapping it, they pushed one and it got close, and we got stuck on top of it, the whole back of the truck,” Stiltner said.

The Middle Elk Bridge was washed away by flooding, and neighbors in the area are still dealing with trying to get out.

The only two ways out are to risk crossing in the water or walking miles on the side of a mountain.

“My husband drives my mom to the edge of the tracks, well to the edge of the mountain, and she walks to my brother on the other side and he walks with her just to take her out to get her medic
