BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - An exhaust fan sparks a fire at a building on Prospect Street in Burlington.

Firefighters say it happened just after noon on Thursday.

When they got to the scene, they saw smoke on the first floor.

They went in and found the fire in a shower stall and quickly put it out.

First responders say it was the bathroom exhaust fan that sparked the blaze and are now using this case as a reminder for the public that dust and continuous use can cause the fan motors to overheat and ignite.
