A shooting at Evanston Hospital left one person wounded Thursday evening, police said.

The shooting happened in the emergency department of the hospital, 2650 Ridge Ave., according to Evanston police.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound that was not considered to be life-threatening, police said.

One person was taken into custody, police said. The shooting also prompted a lockdown at the hospital.

No other information was immediately available.
